Evening all,

Hope you're all doing fab!
Today's post is just a small one on the Personal Training session I did with my PT Sian!

Pushed me hard today and I'm definitely feeling it now!

So to start off with, I threw my cycling shorts on and jumped on the watt bike
Just cycled between 50-60 reps per minute to warm up my body before getting going, then we went into interval training...

Ow.

Started off by going 30 seconds as hard/fast as I could, could really feel this in my thighs and bum (or glutes if you want to be technical ha!) with 2 minutes recovery inbetween, which I did for around 10 minutes ish, then carried on with 20 seconds hard with 20 seconds recovery.

It hurt but definitely got me warmed up!

Afterwards we went onto the step machine, which I was doing a hard minute without stopping which 30 seconds rest in between, which we did for around 10 minutes too, my calves took an absolute lashing from them but its weirdly satisfying after workout ache now if I must say!

After this we moved onto arms...

I used the battle rope with a variety of different arm movements, 3 times for around 30 secs each, which really made my upper arms work! then did a miltary press (sort of) with a 6kg kettlebell, 10 arms each, alongside lifting 4kg in each hand 10 times with the mini green dumbells.

I also did some bicep curls with this actual bar:

Not sure how heavy it actually was in all honesty but it was heavy... put it that way haha (for me anyway!)

After that, arms were done and we moved onto abs (woo!)

Started with 10 situps and 10 crunches, I did that twice with a short break in between.

Then we got the big pink ball out and tried something different!

I raised my legs and rested them on the ball and did 4 normal crunches and then on the 5th one I held it there for around 5ish seconds,
I did that about 4 times, then afterwards I crossed my leg over whilst resting it and did the same but twisting to the left/right for 4 reps and holding it on the 5th to make it a bit more challenging!

Finally to finish off:

I bent my knees as much as possibly could and then using my arms and touching my heels with my fingertips.

and hey presto, it was done!

Feeling incredibly achey but it was worth it!

Hi all,

Today's post is a little bit different and probably a slightly touchy subject for some, it was for me, but now I've found the confidence to speak out about it.

Body Shaming.

It is incredibly likely that at somepoint in your life, whoever you are, you've been a victim of body shaming, the 2 most common I've seen are "fat" shaming and "skinny" shaming.

I'm that bored of seeing it, it kind of makes me feel a bit like:

Now when I was at my biggest, I've been told by complete strangers to lose weight, whether it was to my face or I overheard them pointing and staring and trust me when I say, it hurts.
It brings your confidence down and it makes you begin to question your self image, your self confidence and everything around you, something of which I still get very anxious about despite me having lost some weight.

I wouldn't wish that sort of feeling on my worst enemy.

Now I have friends who are naturally slim, they don't put a lot of weight on no matter what they eat, or what they do, it just doesn't happen, but they're made to feel rubbish for liking their bodies... why?

As women and men alike, we should be empowering each other and lifting each other up, not dragging each other down, whether you're a size 6 or a size 22, what is the point in putting someone down?

As long I'm happy with myself, it has got nothing to do with anyone else.
As long as YOU are happy with yourself, it has got nothing to do with anyone else.

If you are happy and healthy, then you shouldn't feel shame in the way you look, the way you dress, the way you feel about yourself.

If you want to lose weight and tone up? Do it. If you don't, don't! like I said, if you're happy and healthy it is your choice.

I will continue to do the work I'm doing to improve myself, because I want to, since losing weight my physical and mental state have improved, I'm happier and most importantly, healthier.

I don't get out of breath walking up stairs anymore, I don't feel as sad when I look in the mirror anymore and my confidence has boosted.
I did it all for myself and I will continue to until I feel my absolute best.

There is no reason YOU should feel bad about yourself because somebody else says so.

There is a lot of people out there who maybe a size 6 or a size 16 or a size 24 because of medical issues, because of issues they don't even know they have themselves, but lets sweep this judgemental aura about other people under the carpet, lets focus on ourselves and the people we love because that's what life is all about isn't it?

Love yourself!

Until next time,

Evening all!

It seems that blogging seems to have taken a bit of a backseat in my life, but I really hope I'll be back to regular posting soon! life seems to get in the way at the moment, but hey, lets see how it goes!

So what's new? Well as I mentioned, I've joined Slimming World and I did my first week on the plan and guess what? I lost 3 and a half pounds! Which I am over the moon with, naturally!
I must admit I was a little bit skeptical about joining at first as I didn't really know if joining it would benefit me, but it had got to the point where my eating wasn't in shape and the exercise just wasn't enough! Then, when I saw a voucher in a magazine to join without a membership fee, I took as a sign that I should just go ahead and do it!

Besides, hitting a brick wall with weightloss pretty much feels like this:

So then, what happened?
I rang up the consultant via the Slimming World website and told her I was coming down, and well when I went, it's just packed full of info and support from not just the consultant, but the other members too:

I did like this board, as it's realistic and friendly, everyone and I mean everyone has off days and bad days food wise whether you're dieting or not, so a little encouragement and friendly words go a long way!

On the other board, a hint for when you're feeling hungry! (Which FYI, I followed this religiously this week!)

On top of the boards, the table was covered in books and packaging from the ready made Iceland range just so you could take a look!

So, how does the night go? Everyone comes in and buys anything they may want to (new cookbook, hifi bars etc...) then lines up to sign in and pay weekly fee (if applicable) and get weighed, any weightloss is written in the book you recieve when you join!
Afterwards, everyone is sat and we share if we've lost or gained and how much or if we've maintained and we set our goals for the week ahead, that is pretty much it!

What's even better is that I lost 3 and a half pounds in my first week! - Hoping for a minimum of a pound weightloss each week!

The best part about Slimming World is that I don't even feel like I'm on a diet! I've probably eaten more this week than I have in a while and still lost some! bonus!

I picked this book up for £5 too, which I've had a quick flick through and some of the dishes look so easy and best of all nice (to say I'm a bit of a fussy eater!).

I'll be posting these on the blog soon!

To finish off tonight's post, I decided to stick a progress photo for you all to see!

The first was taken just over 2 months ago, the other, 2 days ago, not the biggest of differences but just after new year I was concerned that my stomach wasn't toning and getting smaller so it's a great motivating step in the right direction for me!

That's all for tonight, I'll be back soon.

Until then,

Evening all,

This week I finally bit the bullet and did something that I never thought I would do or have been putting off doing at least anyway...

I joined Slimming World.

Why you ask?

Well even though I've lost at least a stone, I've only managed to somewhat maintain it rather than it carry on losing it, so after a lot of thought (and seeing that I could join for free with a magazine *cough*) - I decided to go ahead and do it.

I know people who have done it and have been successful in their weightloss goals, so why not give it a try?

I'll update you on everything after my first session on tuesday (woo!) and I'll be updating you on my progress as well!

Another club I've signed up for is Tri4Girlz - run by my fab friend Beth (who has been featured on here before) - an all womens triathalon training club.

*I'm not training for a triathalon, just to help me get in better shape and fitter... Just to clear that up ha!*

check out the Tri4Girlz website:

Tri4Girlz

I'll be doing another post about Tri4Girlz soon once it kicks off and gets going! So watch out for that.

On top of this, I'm still going to the gym but I'm trying to introduce more classes into my life!

So far I've done one kettlebell class (give me credit I've only just started!) and I am still aching from it 2 days later! But, I really want to do it again, after I've tried some others so look out for that!

But I'm hoping with the combination of Slimming World, Tri4Girlz, Gym and Classes will see me finally getting the results I need and deserve and make me as happy!

As happy as Chandler is to make him dance like that haha!

That's all for now, as it was just a quick update post, but I will be posting again next week so keep an eye out for it!

Until then,
